To God Above, In Awesome Love

A prodigal son,

To God returned,

A faith renewed,

A life relearned.

To walk the way,

Of righteous love,

To never stray,

From him above.

A man reborn,

No longer deceased,

No longer torn,

By worldly beasts.

Now robed in gold,

New sandals worn,

To walk atoned,

No fear of scorn.

In blessed rays,

In joys abound,

In Jesus Christ,

New man is found.

No longer sinning,

In evil ways,

Anew the path,

To God I gaze.

I thank you Lord,

O Christ how great,

I’m on my way,

To Heaven’s gate.

To there forever,

To live in peace,

To home at last,

To a glorious feast.

How strong, how blessed,

I am today,

No longer distressed,

To God I pray.

Forgiven now,

Forgiven all,

To here I stand,

A proud man God called.

To bear in witness,

Man can change,

In tune with God,

For endless days.

To live in Christ,

In whom I praise,

Surprised not!

Yet so amazed!

Herein is seen,

My soul ablaze,

I thank you Lord,

For now, I’m saved!!

Amen!
